Who do you prefer? Neil doesn't get in this poll because he never really could make the commitment.

Stephen Stills definitely. Without his brilliant guitar and writing they wouldn't have gone anywhere. Young never got over that.

He was brilliant, I wish there were session out takes available to listen to heavily featuring him

I have them all at a tie for last.

Least favorite members of Byrds, Buffalo Springfield, and Hollies, respectively.

Stills. Without him, we're talking about another England Dan and John Ford Coley or Seals and Crofts.

Stills. He's all over his solo albums and quite a bit of the CSN overall material. Has also had a number of different phases...tinkering with Spector productions, bare bones and everything in between. Only thing that might have used a little work was his guitar soloing...sometimes that would get a little clogged up, but one man can't be everywhere at one time. Really, the guy covered all the bases and did it flawlessly.

A real kickass performer when it comes down to brass tacks.

That's easy. Stephen Stills. He was the talent of the trio for sure.

Stills as far as CS&N are concerned. He always stands out as a separate entity whereas Crosby and Nash can blend together in my mind.
That being said, If I Could Only Remember My Name is by far my favorite solo album by any of the three.

Stills hands down. Love the Byrds, love the Hollies, I have never purchased a Crosby, Nash or Crosby Nash piece.

I do think Crosby & Nash give better interviews & critiques.

I voted Stills because he was on a MAJOR role back in the early days and is the best overall songwriter and musician. That said, his voice hasn't held up very well while Crosby's voice has held up remarkably well.

Stills, for all the obvious reasons. Crosby has a great voice, though - one of the finest, and least appreciated, in rock.

Nash, you can keep. He was a useful harmony vocalist in the Hollies but he adds nothing to the other two, for me at least.

Stephen Stills. No contest. He had it all and could've made those records by himself if he wanted to and often did. Songwriter, Singer, Producer, Multi-Instrumentalist.....I do enjoy Crosby and Nash's contributions as well but Stills always has that way of drawing me in with his singing and playing. Just like an old friend. Say what you will about him now but as far as I'm concerned, he laid down enough amazing work in his youth to last a lifetime.
