I have owned many different versions over the years but the UK Columbia 70's pressing I currently have sounds the best I have ever heard it. I have never owned an original UK though.

    No Yardbirds in my collection.

I've heard most of their singles and a few other things but it never resonated with me.
Strange as I do like what the Guitarists got into later in their careers.

It's a great LP. I have a UK stereo pressing, which is a later issue, a NZ mono version (uses UK parts) and the US mono equivalent on Epic Records. No CD's. I bought a copy in the late 80's but gave it away.

Talk about an album that is in dire need of a really good remastering job..

Of course I have this album. The Yardbirds were a great group and this is their best album. It should be in any serious rock collection. I think I picked this up at a record show way back when. Edsel Records 1986.

The weird thing is that The Yardbirds ONLY released 2 albums (LPs) in the UK during their active career: Five Live Yardbirds and The Yardbirds (aka Roger The Engineer). That was it. Hard to believe, right? So if you were a UK fan, you really had to get import LPs and/or all of the 45's (and EP's ??) to get the bulk of their material.

I have a bunch of different LP and CD versions. My U.S. EPIC Over Under Sideways Down mono has a ton of treble. It sizzles.

Have a UK mono Roger on vinyl, but wish it also had "Happenings Ten Years Time Ago".

I was tempted to vote "all," but I don't have the final live album, and I am guessing that stuff has come out in the digital era, after I was virtually finished with 60s teen pop music.

My first copy of Roger was a stereo UK LP copy on Columbia, circa 1979.

Then I got a US mono LP of "Over Under" and it blew me away.

Then I got the Epic US LP version of "Roger" with the bonus tracks and mix of mono and stereo.

Then I got the Edsel mono LP reissue.

Then somewhere along the line I stupidly traded my US Epic mono.

Then my girlfriend moved in and brought with her a US stereo Epic LP of "Over Under." She had only heard it in stereo. I will never forget her reaction when I played "He's Always There" in mono!

So I guess you can say that I like this album! ;)

Besides being The Yardbirds best album, it really sounds ahead of its time to me. Some of the tracks simply do not sound like something from 1966.

Great stuff - I have original UK mono and stereo lp pressings, Edsel mono/stereo lp reissues, CBS Mastersound lp, Edsel stereo cd, Diablo mono/stereo cd, Warner Archive cd - my favorite album, the only one I have multiple copies of at the old ranch. Original UK mono lp sounds best to me, the highs aren't in the stratosphere like the reissues sound to me. If you were in a garage band in '66, you really needed to have some songs from this album as part of your set list...
