Will be a second 80s poll next week (for 60-70 & 80) including Sting, Joe Jackson, Elvis Costello, U2, The Cure, ABBA, Supertramp, Steve Winwood, Guns N Roses,...

If you know other interesting Universal Artists from 80-90-00, post them here (not mentionned in the poll and not on the Universal websites).

    Thanks for your help!

PS: Grace Jones ... only 1 vote ... surprises me.

Bob Marley at number 1. Grace Jones: only one point (Aerosmith either). Not much people interested in a Japanese sacd-reissue of Brothers In Arms.

I've made my choices, but still wanna add a small comment:
From my previous experience 80s recordings usuallly do not benefit from SACD (stereo) treatment.

Boston's Third Stage is not on the list so I'm not voting.

Very nice see so many votes for Making Movies. :)

Love this album, love the pure basic rockn/roll aspect of it. And love the compact dynamic stereo sound of the album, a little "mono-ish" in sound.

I don't see the need for Brothers In Arms as it has already been released on perfectly acceptable 5.1 SACD and DualDisc.

However, the other two Dire Straits titles would be especially welcome on SACD, even more so if in 5.1.

I suspect that they'd sell well worldwide.

With good surround mixes I'd be willing to fork out $50 for several of those titles, but for just a stereo SACD it's way too much money.

The additional time and effort making it a multi-channel release would be worth the price tag to allow a profit to still be made.

However they'd sell far more of these in North America on BD at $20/pop.

Had no idea this album was released at Universal. Will be in the 80's second round. Very happy with this news!

Not much votes for The Cure? :(

Mr. Sam, the dj that played frequently at Nova (Gaurain-Ramecroix) in Belgium? (Yellow Screen, Blue Screen, Green Screen,... and later started a producing career in Holland? + Circuit Boy "The Door" live at Nova)

I think I still have those vhs-tapes from the DJ's at TMF :)

As far as I know, R.E.M. has never released an album @ Universal (Japan). Only EMI and Warner.

    XTC, al released at EMI.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but I couldn't find any link with Universal Japan.

Yeah, I would really like to see Disintegration, Kiss Me, and Boys Don't Cry. Starting at the Sea would be awesome but not on the list.

Voted for Song from the Big Chair. However, my fav 80 release is Echo - Ocean Rain.

I'd be more inclined to purchase these if they included a multichannel layer, too, but since 5.1 doesn't apply here, I would still be thrilled to see one or some of these make it to SACD someday:

Fleetwood Mac - Tango In The Night
    George Michael - Faith
Joe Satriani - Flying In A Blue Dream
    Level 42 - World Machine
    Christopher Cross - Another Page
Thompson Twins - Into The Gap
Edie Brickell & New Bohemians - Shooting Rubberbands At The Stars
    Suzanne Vega - Solitude Standing
Terrence Trent Darby - The Hardline According To...
    Tracy Chapman - s/t
    Billy Idol - Rebel Yell
Pink Floyd - Momentary Lapse Of Reason
Chris Rea - New Light Through Old Windows (88' Geffen)
    Toni Childs - Union
    Robbie Robertson - s/t
