Wasn't too hard to find The Stranger LP at the thrift stores back in early 2000. I have a few Sterling TJ and a Masterdisk RL.. iirc.

No music by Billy Joel at all.

I like his hits okay. Just never been interested in owning them.

I have a CD and maybe a vinyl copy. I had the new picture disc in my hand today but didn't buy it. For the most part I don't like Billy Joel but I had this album back in the day and still like a few songs. Other than that I have 52nd Street and The Nylon Curtain on vinyl. Has anybody heard the picture disc? I like the old school album jacket.

Hated Joel for years, only came to like him over the last 10 years or so.

Picked up most of his stuff in that time - can get everything he's done cheap in the used CD bins - but still haven't picked up everything, and I may never finish the collection. His last few albums just done seem very interesting from what I've heard from them...

I’ve got all of his stuff. The only album of Billy’s that I play more than The Stranger would be Songs In The Attic.

This was the first lp I ever purchased with my own money. $5.98 at Rolling Stone Records on Irving Park in Chicago. I was with my dad. I asked him to buy it for me and I would pay him back when we got home. At home, I dug out every penny and nickel I could find in my room and plunked it on my dad's desk... my entire life's savings!

Currently I own my original time-of-release pressing, and the current cd version. My Billy Joel collection only runs The Stranger through Glass Houses, but I love all those records. After that I had gotten into punk and Billy was passé. Listened to Glass Houses last week, it's my favorite of his.

Because people dislike what Billy Joel did to his former band mates. He's not a good person at all.

Okay, but good music is good music.

John Lennon, by his own admission, used to hit women, but millions still enjoy the hell out of his music.

Makes perfect sense to me (not!). I have no view on the feuds but if you are saying SHF members should only own music by good people ... WOW....I'm happy to listen to his former band mates on his LPs.

No Billy Joel at all in my collection. One of my most hated rock artists.

Wait, does Attila count? I have that.

Great album, almost a greatest hits by itself. Have all his studio albums plus the live Songs in the Attic and Koept. Some live blue rays and DVDs.

Yes I own it and I think it's a great record. Every song there is good to great.

I overplayed it at some point so I can't enjoy it as much as I used to.
