The goon squad has left town. We're down to the final 3......one more needs to go. Vote for your next weakest link.

Discussion question: Where do you rate/rank Scary Monsters in the David Bowie catalog?

    Beep Beep...........................................

    Fashion (Round 5)
Up the Hill Backwards (Round 4)
    Teenage Wildlife (Round 3)
    It's No Game (No. 2)
Scream Like a Baby (Round 2)
    Because You're Young (Round 1)
    Kingdom Come (Round 1)

    The title track

I'd rank this album and Aladdin Sane at the top.

It ranks up there with his best (but it’s not my clear cut favorite).......although I sometimes think this actually gets underrated a bit.

    Scary Monsters to go.

I've tried to rank the albums. I can't do it. I can put them in tiers, chronologically. Scary Monsters is tied for top spot with 6 other albums:

    Hunky Dory
    Diamond Dogs
    Low
    Scary Monsters (And Super Creeps)
    1. Outside
    Earthling
    Blackstar

I find it hard to rank albums, but I would say it is a great album. Quite commercial, riding along with the New-Wave, New Romantics, but at the same time, quite dense, rich with musical colour, great lyrics, noisy, but in a good way. Some of the lyrics are quite disparaging of those who follow his coat tails. Very interesting album.

I'd rank Scary Monsters right below the first couple glam albums, Hunky Dory, and the first two Berlin albums.

This, Aladdin and Low are my top 3 Bowie.
This was the first album I heard of his.
Scary to go, I adore It’s No Game No1.
I played my tape so much I could hear side 2 playing backwards while I was playing side 1 it was that worn out.

In the middle of the pack. It tries too hard to be one of his classic rock lps like Ziggy or Station.

Of the 12 studio albums between 1970 and 1980 I rank it 9th, above pinups, mwstw and young americans.

This poll is a sham--a rigged sham. :)

Ever since "Kingdom Come" was voted off first, and "Teenage Wildlife" was sent packing far too early, I have refused to participate. Except to vote this round and to complain.

I would rank Scary Monsters as middle of the pack. Ahead of Hunky and Blackstar, but far behind Ziggy and Alladin.
It is one of my least played Bowie albums, down there with Hunky and Hours.

Rank it in the middle but never listen to it. Guess I have to put it in my car because the second side still seems fresh.
I listened to Reality three times this weekend. Have not heard Scary in three months.

Above the middle, below the likes of Ziggy, Station to Station and Low.

The last three songs are all super creepy classics; I won't kill any of them.

Voted for Ashes though i'm not holding much hope for my favourite It's No Game. Still top 3 and it beat Fashion.

Voted off "Ashes", even though I know it's pissing in the wind.

"Monsters" is #2 after "Station to Station"...

Yeah, I'm shocked! I thought "No. 1" would go early!

How to know you've found the perfect woman: you make her a mix CD that consists solely of "It's No Game No. 1" 18 times and she loves it! :D
