There's no next time for "Next Time Around." We've reached the final four. One more must go. Vote your next weakest link.

Discussion question: Where do you rate/rank Blood & Chocolate within the Elvis Costello catalog?

I know right now it's over..................

    Next Time Round (Round 5)
Home Is Anywhere You Hang Your Head (Round 4)
    Crimes of Paris (Round 3)
    Battered Old Bird (Round 2)
    Poor Napoleon (Round 2)
    Tokyo Storm Warning (Round 1)
Honey, Are You Straight or Are You Blind? (Round 1)

Two of my three favorites gone. Darn!

    "Uncomplicated" again

DQ: Top fifteen, resting at #13.

These are 4 very heavy hitters for me. "I Want You" would be next.

I'm not much on rating and ranking. I really like this album. It's good. :)

I Want You, again. I would rank B&C at number 7 or 8, behind (in no particular order) the first four, Imperial Bedroom, King of America, and sometimes depending on my mood, Punch the Clock or Brutal Youth.

Somewhere in the top 5, one of his best imo.

DQ: mid range top 10 after IB, GH, AF and some of KOA, BY, TYM

Voting for Blue Chair. I hope I Want You gets saved.

DQ: I have to revisit the whole EC catalog for ranking the albums, but I remember placing this at like #3 under Imperial Bedroom and Spike, but that was in the beginning of February and I haven't been refreshed on albums before Imperial Bedroom since November/December. Since then, I've really enjoyed the earlier albums a lot more maybe. Like, I remember not liking Get Happy!! that much and I revisited a week ago and I loved it, so I have no idea.

I didn't see this until today, but then again, I've not been here much the last month.

I voted off "I Want You."

Surprised to see "Toyko Storm Warning" go in the first round.

DQ: I didn't become a EC fan until the mid-90's. I think ALL THIS USELESS BEAUTY was the first album of his that was current when I bought it since GET HAPPY. I eventually picked up every major release from the beginning, and continued through THE RIVER IN REVERSE.

I'd put B&C probably sixth, behind IMPERIAL BEDROOM, GET HAPPY, TRUST, KING OF AMERICA, and ALL THIS USELESS BEAUTY. Maybe ahead of ATUB. Unlike many, I'm not a huge fan of the first three--TYM is my favorite of that trio--and frankly, don't like a lot of the stuff that came after B&C. I kept buying them because I got so much enjoyment out of the first few albums I heard, and I could pick them up as part of my BMG Music Service deals. Maybe I just burned out on him--the new stuff may be just as good as his prime material, but I wasn't getting as much from it.

He's since made good albums (When I Was Cruel, Painted from Memory) and commendable ones (The Delivery Man, Spike) but Blood and Chocolate was the last unimpeachable classic.

    I Want You.

DQ: I’d rank it somewhere between 6 and 10. Not quite top 5.

I'd put it top 10. I'm thinking it would be #8 or #9.

I know we covered King Of America, but have we covered the ones that came before in a WL game?
