I thought it would be a good way to look at what John had recorded in 1980 by looking at his songs from both DOUBLE FANTASY and MILK AND HONEY. Yoko bashing will be minimized in doing so--not that I mind it or entirely refrain from it--thus focusing on Lennon's last set of songs.

Choose two of these as weak links.

I also want to announce that this is my last regularly scheduled Weakest Link game. I've been doing this since 2005, and I've done just about every album I wanted to do, at least that I thought would make for an interesting game (my favorite Neil Finn, Aimee Mann and Ryan Adams albums are nothing I'd expect to draw a good crowd). I have alerted the Gorts about my decision, and there may be some announcement as to how the WL games can continue. I'm not saying I'll never run another one, but I've grown weary of the routine of coming to this site every day to start another round. I don't want to feel the sense of obligation I now have.

So, let's have some fun with this one!

Joey - Thanks for doing this for the last 13 years. Since I joined the forum in 2006, these games have been a welcome sight on the front page and a fun pastime. While the board has changed a lot over the last 10 years, I always looked forward to coming back and seeing what the subject of the Weakest Link was and participating when I knew the music. Thanks for being so diligent and organized, and hope to see you do one now and then down the road!

Thanks for all the WL games Joey.
Perhaps someone else wants to take charge and alternate to others every other round......as been happening lately.

After that it gets pretty tough.....

    Joey,
first of all thanks for all the fish! :) You put the FFFFF in the FUN!

Thanks for 13 years of great threads. I've participated whenever I had the time and was familiar enough with the album, it's always been fun. Personally I wouldn't mind a few Aimee Mann weakest link threads, if there would be one I certainly would join in.

    @Joey.....
What was your first weakest link LP?

Flower Princess and Cleanup Time booted.

Question...did Yoko strip Milk and Honey down/remix it? I liked the remixes quite a lot...especially Imagine and Mind Games.

I don't know if I'll be voting in this poll since I'll be out of town for the rest of the week. I'm hoping I'll be able to vote on the final two rounds or something. Pulling through for "Woman".

I think Milk and Honey was as basic as it is, so there's no point of a remix/stripped down version. DFSD was most likely released so the songs can compare to M&H.

Surprised to see I Don't Wanna Face It scoring so highly, as it's probably my favourite track from these sessions.

The Who WHO'S NEXT. It was very primitive in the beginning. No poll--so as to encourage folks to actually talk about their choice--and no discussion question. No recap of the previous rounds or link to the next one.

It evolved over time--thanks in large part to the suggestions of the players--into what it now is.

The Weakest Link--WHO'S NEXT, Round 1

EDIT: I looked at the names of the players in that first round of the first game. Some are still playing...

Always love Weakest Link, hope someone else takes over. Understand why you'd want to step aside though. Thanks for doing it for so long.

I could've easily picked more than 2 (John's death has inflated most of his work from 1980 into being better than it really way), but I picked the absolute two at the bottom of the barrel: "Dear Yoko" and "Forgive Me."

Ah Joey, fully understand your decision but a shame nonetheless. I've always admired your puns with each new round when kicking off eliminated songs! Amazing effort for 13 years, bravo sir, a well earned rest is in order.

As for the WL at hand, my favourite song here is Grow Old With Me, but given the number of votes it has already amassed I see that's not going to win! Went with Forgive Me and Clean Up
