Excuse me, when did you see The Rolling Stones live on stage for the first time:
in the 1960s (with Brian Jones), 1970s (with Mick Taylor), ...
during the 2006 Super Bowl Halftime Performance, ...?

Please, share :tiphat: your stories and memories
and, if you have, post pics of concert posters, tickets, etc.

1969, Forum, Inglewood CA. Underbill was B.B. King and Ike & Tina Turner.

Missed 'em in Omaha, 1966. 16 years old, no money.

Saw 'em again at the L.A. Coliseum in 1989; underbill was Guns 'n' Roses and Living Colour.

L.A. Coliseum in 1989. Wasn't expecting much -- just a run-through of the hits. That's what it was, but it was terrific. Go figure.

Sound quality was horrible!! However, as I had a good view of the stage and it was my first time seeing the Stones, I still had a great time.

The concert was also tragic in that some guy fell from the balcony during the show and died.

1994 Voodoo Lounge tour. Unfortunately we had the absolute worst nosebleed seats at the old Foxboro stadium which detracted from the experience. Terrible sound and I left feeling kinda disappointed. Maybe I'd built them up way too much in my mind, maybe it was the knowledge that I'd missed out seeing them in their heyday but I was not that into it. Lenny Kravitz opened up and he was okay but from the back top row of the stadium all I could see of him was a tiny clump of shaking dreadlocks. I do remember that the Stones did a killer Memory Motel that brought a huge cheer from the crowd for the "Back up to Boston" line.

They charged like robber barons in 2013, I wanted to see them before I found out the cost (and the truly sickening manner the way the ticket prices were divided), and I even knew a woman whose boyfriend would have bought them a NICE pair of tickets and she turned it down and told him don't buy them in principle against those miserable, vain, greedy multi-millionaires who charged more money for each step closer you got to their ROYAL beings to worship.

    No THANKS.
(They started thinking like Streisand about themselves at some point).

Closest I ever got was seeing Ronnie Wood in a small club with Bo Diddley. Great show, but I still kick myself for not seeing the Stones when I had the chances.

L.A. Forum, January 18, 1973 - the Benefit for Nicaragua; opening act was Cheech and Chong. I had broken up with my girlfriend at the time, but she had already purchased tickets as a surprise for me, so I bit the bullet and went with her to the concert. Unfortunately, regardless of how good the Stones were, it wasn't the most enjoyable evening. The reason I broke up with her? I found out she was sleeping with one of my roommates! They eventually ran off together, but even that didn't last for very long.
