Always held a special place in my heart for: An American Werewolf in London (1981). But honestly probably only seen it twice!

Never cared for the Star Wars movies!

Good reminder to pull out my bluray of this.
Another vote here for 'Big'. Not always a Tom Hanks fan but this was almost a perfect movie for me.
Enjoyed the Michael J Fox of 'Bright Lights Big City' much more than the same in 'Back To The Future'

No ones mentioned Amadeus yet? Man I love that one.

Otherwise my picks for the 80s seem to be all Harrison ford - empire, raiders, and blade runner.

I guess it's not the type of movie you watch but off the top of my head, my 80s favorites would be Gandhi and Rain Man.

Airplane, Spinal Tap and Raging Bull would be up there too (but not on your list).

I salute you for remembering - and mentioning - this film! :tiphat:

This Steve Martin/Carl Reiner production is outstanding, and actually works on multiple levels (as a salute to classic film noir, as a very funny detective comedy, and is creatively and technically brilliant in its construction!)

I actually wrote a paper on it for my college film class (at the time the film was only a few years old and already fairly obscure). I got a B+ on it, as I recall.

It definitely should have been on my list.
