There was a TV commercial a few years ago for either a soft drink or a mobile phone network (it's usually one or the other) that used an acoustic version of Let's Dance with a female vocal, delivered in that awful, whispery, my-voice-is-cracking manner that became the default setting for cover versions for a time.

I dunno if this is down to Xanax or just general lack of ability.

More to the point, I love that rendition, and it seems well-suited to the song's first person, ruminative narrative through the lens of autism (not ADHD); in fact, compared to TFF's relatively hyperactive original, I'd say it's the definitive version. The thread title seems implicitly critical, but I suppose it could be objectively soliciting songs that sound performed with psychotropically induced tranquility, which can be dreadful, but not always.

And, I give you back Pomplamoose, the Little Band That Could:
Pharrell Mashup (Happy Get Lucky) - Pomplamoose
See, this is the part you left out; that's a five-year progression of a young pair of Business and Marketing grads from one simple idea (and a lot of talent, frankly)...and that one was four years ago. YouTube gave them an arena where the creative can play.
Yeah, it's only one voice (pretty sweet one, actually), and they couldn't afford Eddie Van Halen to guest, nor did they have the budget to do theirs in a parking garage. Your "worst band in the world" has one helluva lot more followers and fans (and page hits!) than most of the world, and I'm guessing it's not because everybody else thinks they're "the worst band" in it.
They are actually quite versatile on their own, musically.
They have guested and mentored young artists and given them a place to get noticed.
They've done some of the best fundraising (a pitch following every video) I've seen via YouTube.
And, they've done both (on a little platform called Patreon, which JACK STARTED).
They've recorded, released albums, toured, done interviews, self-promotion and a Ted Talk.
They've done commercials for car manufacturers and jewelry chains.
Nataly's concentrated on her her solo work, returning to her "edgier-than-folk" style, while Jack and his staff move Patreon to the next level).
I think they're gonna do juuuuust fine.

Earlier I said I hated them all with no exceptions, if Nina Simone counts (I don't think she does - she was never bland and doesn't deserve being put on the same level of the dross being discussed in this thread at all), then I do make exceptions for her.

Really bad example in your post though. Nina sang the original of Don't Let Me Be Misunderstood. It was wrote for her.

Well, I did not mean to be dead serious. But it's great to give a bad example, thanks for that.

Thank goodness for that! Sometimes it's hard to read posts as intended, being half asleep after an incredibly long work shift doesn't help!
