Amos Garrett on Maria Muldaur's Midnight at the Oasis (from 1.20).

Always loved the little thing that happens at 1.49... I'm still not sure how he plays it.

I like this one, starting about 2:20. It's simple - much of it more fuzz than melody. But after the relatively mellow sound of the rest of the song, it just explodes out of your speakers.

I was going to post something from Television's Marquee Moon.

But I like every solo more than the next one, and I can't pick.

This is the first I think of, Down in de Dew from later in Läther. Back in the 80s I owned a boot of Läther. Side 1 of LP 1, that ends with For the Young Sophisticate, is still my favorite string of music on any album.

And for sheer chutzpah and tone... Bill Nelson..... The little stops over the pick ups are perfection the solo just sublime... 1;47 and then as the songs fades out.

    Just listen to that intro.
And what he does at 1:45, man oh man.

I got to see him live finally this year, my total #1 bucket-list want for years, and he did this for me by request.
This guy is the nicest person and plays the most insane solos in the world.
The one on Rock-A-Hula-Baby from this same album may be even better, or wilder. Unreal.

This whole thing....this guy played SO FAST he had to use banjo strings on part of his guitar because he just broke the normal strings ALL the time! A teen prodigy here.
