    The Aristocrats - Don't Go

Released in 1974 on the Rondo label out of Louisville/Kentucky.

Deep funk at its best, with amazing and fiery vocals by singer Linda Blakely.

I love the show Atlanta and the fact that Donald Glover tends to use obscure funk/hip hop/soul/jazz in most of the episodes. In one episode he used a song by Curtis Mayfield called When Seasons Change and I liked it so I looked it up. He used Sweet Little Girl by Stevie Wonder in another episode.

Stacy Lane - Funky Little Train

Flipside of "No Brags Just Facts", released on Excello in late 1968.

Don't know nothing about Stacy Lane, other than that he released two singles on Excello under the supervision of Ray Harris in 1968. The year before he had released his debut single "No Ending" on the Memphis/Tennessee Bar label.

Excellent record, fortunately someone on Youtube posted about its subject matter... the Jackson State shootings in Mississippi in 1970. I'm hugely interested in both funk and protest songs and this is a fine example of both.

Well, it's his BDay, but Cloreen Bacon Skin is one of Prince's funkiest though little known (or liked) tracks. I LOVE it. When the bass kicks in it's hot. When the high hat starts it's fire.
