  1. I had radiant heating in our floors in San Francisco. It was the water based gas system we installed during a renovation. After that type of heating I'd never go back to a forced air furnace. Even heat, no dust blowing and total silent. Very efficient too. It spoiled me.

Not to mention warm air rises (especially luxurious for someone like me who's feet are always freezing...). I've installed a few radiant floors when remodeling bathrooms for some clients and hope to install one where ever I land next, someday. Love your living space(s), Mazzy - very beautiful.

Radiant heating is great. Wish I could install it at my house, but I don't want to bust up a well-laid concrete slab.

  4. You don't have to rip up the concrete there Is a Roth Styro 1/2 " panel system that you lay over the slab w a vapor barrier in between. 3/8" tubing slips into the ire cut grooves. You then lay your engineered wood flood over. It gets hooked up to a gas powered hot water efficient boiler. Not electric like under small areas like bathrooms.

Love it, Maz. Martin Denny, a martini, The Beatles, and what looks like a cow rug!

    Lovely!
I've always wondered, do off-centre centre speakers cause imaging issues?

  11. No problem for the dialogue. I had posted these wider pictures elsewhere that my music chair is dead center in the sweet spot but the sofa for everyone is off to the left for movies and the tv pivots so the slightly left center speaker is actually fine.

Very nice. The power strip and wire jumble is a bit distracting, however, Can you hide it behind the amp?

I can't, power cord for the strip is not long enough.

Nope, Scorpio. Just hate seeing tangled wires in an otherwise clean looking system.

I'd get a new power strip.

Maybe I'll buy a line filter, but first I have to get some to test it.

Updated pictures of my setup showcasing the RCA AC Line Voltage Meter and Resonessence Labs Concero HD DAC, which are recent acquisitions. Also shown is my restored 1983 vintage Philips CD100 CD player.

Thank you very much Ed, and thanks to all who have replied and /or liked my post.

The Philips CD100/Magnavox FD1000SL is a sentimental favorite. Perhaps outclassed today by the most expensive players, but the original Philips 14 bit converters and digital filter really give it a very smooth, non fatiguing quality. I recapped mine with the latest Nichicon Muse electrolytics, and the sound quality is beyond reproach. Plus it looks cool on top of it.

Here are some photos of the stereo system with the new Daedalus Audio Argos in the house. Outriggers will be in next week for the speaker bottoms. The built quality and beauty of these speakers is off the charts. They sound pretty good out of the box, and will only get better with time. The stereo system is finally where I want it after pre-amp and speaker upgrades. Time to settle in for some listening.
