Yes, I know the Hush is often used for turntables but it works with the Esoteric - a little more clarity and detail and a bit smoother in the bass. Not a massive change, but subtle improvements nonetheless

I have many assorted spikes, points, isolation feet in the drawer. I used them under every component years ago but as things evolved I use them less. I think it's the concrete floor and the spiked shelving rack in my current space. They don't make a difference anymore. My MBP is NOT on this rack.....in fact a bit haphazardly attached. I'm going to put it on the floor today with a few spikes and I'll let you know if it changes anything.

    Thanks for the pic!

No problem; it sounds like the concrete floor and spiked rack are doing a good job! The wooden floor here is not the best and not even level in some places, it took me a while to get the components level and they're still not perfect.
Will be interesting if you can detect any changes re your MBP and some spikes. Thanks.

The news world of digital with headphones only is no longer just for the young who are restricted to their rooms in their parents house. That market has exploded in the last decade and the sound quality is impressive!

I agree - the range of hi end 'phones and 'phone amps seems to be increasing rapidly, there's a wide choice for the consumer, and lots at all price points for that matter.

I've owned lots of speaker systems (far too many if I'm honest) and none of those systems gave me what I currently have with the HD800s; the soundstage is large - front and back, left and right - and not only is there the expected uber detail, resolution and clarity, there's also a 'rightness' and believability in the tone and texture of the notes that none of my previous speaker systems presented.

My Wife surprised me with a VPI Scout 2 and DSD for our anniversary.
I spent the better part of last Friday setting everything up and am now starting the break-in period.
For those of you with VPI Scout's, can you suggest any fine tuning or adjustments to dial in my system as I move through the break-in period?
    Thanks.

An SDS would work better than a digital file format

That’s a fine system you got there. I have the VPI Scout and it sounds great, I would imagine yours
would sound even better. I don’t think I could suggest a tweak other then if it sound good to your ears,
don’t touch I thing....... Enjoy your new table, she's a real beauty..

Still adding and moving things around, but this is currently how my system sits. Now that I got my turntable working I can't wait to add my digital media into the mix.

I like the Sufjan Stevens album on display. I ordered it a while ago by mistake and don't really know what to do with it. I meant to order the cd which I subsequently did.

It's all on the stock tubes. The only ones I know for sure are the output Tung-Sol KT120s. I haven't pulled the others out, but they are 3x 12AU7, 2x 12AX7
