Reconstructing my study and just got the new system put together. Pardon the rest of the mess, but here's gear pics. Speakers came to me missing top grills, so I need to make some. All the Steely Dan I can find right now. I know I have Katy Lied, The Night Fly, The Royal Scam and Can't Buy a Thrill ..on vinyl somewhere...but I'm not very organized. But these will do for now. .
Love the Eames chair and the console and yes the headphone holder. May I suggest to folks to use their photo apps to brighten up your images when you are shooting in the dark or into window light. Open shadows is easy. It helps us see your beautiful spaces better. It's easy on most phones. Try it out. .
Thank you for all the kind words (and your brightening skills Mazzy)! The headphones are the Sennheiser HD600's, the tube amplifier a Feliks Audio Espressivo, the DAC a Hegel HD11, the source is Tidal via a Sonos Connect and the chair is a Vitra Lounge Chair. This setup sounds really good to me, and is actually a "downgrade". I used to have the HD800S with a HDVA600 and Cambridge Audio 851C but I sold it off in favour of speakers, but I actually don't feel like I'm missing out on that much. Less correct sure, but far more musical.
Also love the cinder block speaker stands. I have used this much in the past with box speakers. Used to put one on top of the speakers as well to stop the box from moving. Works great!
That is so nice and clean, beautiful equipment, great pic indeed! I so love beautiful vintage equipment, oh yes!
Well, let me take the opportunity to post a quick pic of my new and improved all digital system, digital done right, or as right as I can afford to do it!
Thanks so much, it only took 64 years to get to this point. I do miss some of those great components from the past, my AR turntable, Studer/ReVox complete system and PR-99 R2R deck, and the 215 cassette deck, 225 disc player, 242 power amplifier. The great Polk SDS-SRS 1.2 speakers, oh I wish I had those now! Then there were the cool looking Walnut Legacy Focus speakers, the Magnapan 3.7 speakers in a beautiful mahogany finish, the ADS L-710's, L-910's, and my DIY JBL speakers, and those great beautiful separates made by Pioneer, pre-amps, power amps, yes, the spec 1 pre-amp and the spec-2 power amplifier, two of my very favorites. Finally, that beautiful Tanburg TR-2080 receiver, wow, wish I had that back as well as the ReVox Integrated, model B285. My gosh, don't we go through the equipment over the years of this hobby!
The Brothers Fender, the Telecaster and Stratocaster Elite in Tobacco Sunburst, has to be my favorite color in the Fender line up. The red one is just a have fun SG.
I keep them toned down unless I want someone to really experience a movie, which lights um up nicely! They start at 50 HZ down. They were never intended to be placed where I'm living now, but hopefully they will be where they can breath in a much larger room in the future.
Rega RS3 look and sound lost in the new music room. Must have shrunk since we moved. Looking for Cornwalls...
