Thanks! Same here, my collection is pretty modest. I started out with essentially oversized milk crates that I flipped though, and then after years, decided to “upgrade” and moved them to custom shelves I built in my walk-in closet, loaded traditionally to read the spines. I really ended up missing being able to flip through them, so this is what I came up with, along with my talented wood working friends. Very happy with it.
Finally got all the vinyl in the racks. They weren't quite big enough to hold them all. Had to overflow in to little racks beside them. 2nd door arrived yesterday damaged also. A 3rd one has been ordered. I'm going to have to figure out some stuff to decorate the room a bit.
Funny..I did the math, and my amp as well is about half my body weight. it should be a qualifier when you walk into the Hi-Fi store shopping for a new amp. "How much do you weigh sir?. About 165? Your going to need about an 80 pound amp". It would just about as accurate as using watts.
When the turntable isn't in play, tunes usually come from the notebook to my DAC via USB. In this case, the new Hannah Peel album, very highly recommended for soundtrack fans, this one titled Mary Casio: Journey to Cassiopeia, really nice concept piece with large brass ensemble and bubbling analog sunths ...
I hear ya. Just keeping the dust off mine is hard enough. Here's my latest solution to my hatred of the plastic turntable dust cover. It works GREAT!!! All silk...lets no dust through, easily removed and draped over a Maggie. Got it on Amazon for 12 bucks. Couldn't find a plain white one so I choose the one that showed my affection for my table. Gotta show the love!!! . . .
I see Murray Head Nigel Lived!!! Is it the Intervention Records release? I absolutely love this album and release on IR is just amazing.
Will never happen. Has been placed and removed at least a hundred times now. No issues what so ever. It's pure silk. Super tight weave and weighs next to nothing. You can't snag it if you try.
I doubt if the cloth is anywhere near where the stylus can catch on it. Remove the cover by lifting up on the corner, where the tone arm rests.
At work now and this is sitting on my desk. I have a feeling some updated room photos will be coming from me in the near future.
Wow, that's gonna be a bit different from the Rega You'll have to fill us in on how this came about, always fun to read the backstory.
