Not my room as such, but my record storage. I was able to convince my Uncle in law to come out or retirement and build 6 more customs record shelves. This allowed me to dispose of the Ikea 4x4 and the couple of 2x2's. the space on the shelves has filled up very quickly. My wife says it looks a lot cleaner - which works for me as it is her lounge room. now full the sort of record storage room behind the new set of 6 shelves
Massive! I had something very tiny built (around 6' x 4') several decades ago to organized my record collection, which at the time was on the floor. When I had to move it made me think that it might have been better if I had something modular built when the unit had to be carried down a narrow winding stairway. A collection like yours raises another interesting question---organizaton. Mine is a combination of genre and alphabetical. As I am a retired art director I printed out card board inserts with names for the different sections. From your photo I couldn't tell how you do it. How do you find stuff?
Wow-eee! Nice library. Are the shelf dividers to break up big "clumps" of albums for easier navigation? I like them.
This looks so great. Functional, creates a new little secret space. I'd be tempted to put a chair and headphone rig in the record room.
Really excited about these recently purchased Reference 3a MM de Capo BE. The unique Nextel finish I'm sure are polarizing but they are much better looking in person. Dynamically powerful sound that I'm really enjoying...... no need for the subs either! Very detailed but also smooth and easy to listen too. Larger stands from Noel at Skylan ordered too.
Fantastic system. I imagine it sounds sublime. And your taste in Scotch matches. Love the TT mat and approximately everything else in this pic.
I love seeing custom storage. I know it costs more that the various prefabs but you usually get a better look and more actual storage since it’s built for the exact room. Smart investment for big collections. Very nice job Go play the Grateful Dead’s Me and My Uncle and enjoy !
My completely unremarkable system in my unremarkable room. The only question that should arise is... am I a worse photographer or housekeeper? At least my deficiencies at the former help hide my shortcomings at the latter.
my favorite thread on the board. Since I'm always creeping, I'll play too. My budget gear that I've had for 10 years of happiness, only the speaker are new. My best friend who steals my spot when I flip the record. Also the start of my vinyl (One of those cubes are full of Fall records). Much more behind me and a closet full of CDs.
Love the room decor and the color. And is that a Boston Terrier? My best friend is a Boston as well He’s a great dog, my ex and I had 3 recuse Bostons actually
Those are the Whafedale 225. The black piece is part of the speaker and is down ported with a small gap around the bottom for bass and easy placement.
