Thanks I haven't noticed any sonic differences between surfaces with the Thorens, but I always thought the suspension on it was pretty good. My Micro Seiki DD-35 OTOH is more sensitive, actually it's a howler if I'm not careful. One of the first things I did was remove the "boomy" spring in the auto lift mechanism. I still need to get a good isolating sub-plinth for it.
Absolutely gorgeous set up. I think it looks fantastic, the colors, everything! Forgive me.......but I am anal about certain things.......Holy remotes, Batman!!
I’m going to the Showbox Seattle to see Johnny Marr tomorrow so I thought I take a shot of my J Marr Jag in my record room.
I think those art panels look amazing in the pictures, so they must be even more amazing in real life! I would put on Rush and use the seating as drums because it reminds me of Neil Peart’s kit.
Nice! I have One in white too. Mine is really light for a Jag. Just saw Marr in Nashville, he put on a great show!
For those of you that have guitars in your music rooms, do you play them often or are they just part of the ambiance?
In my office the basses are mostly part of the ambience. When I have a gig the ones I use come down and go to the gig. Sometimes I pull them out and play them mostly to practice for a gig.
I always have a guitar nearby. I don't typically display then as they are safer (and live in a humidity controlled environment) in their cases. My main listening room is my living room and a Martin D-42 resides in a case that sits on my piano bench. I play the guitar or piano most days.
I have one, it's not in any recent pictures since it's now in the back of the room. I play it, but not often enough.
Yes, if I wasn't going to play it often I'd rather store it away in it's case when not being played like I do with my other guitars. I do store it back in the case with a guitar humidifier in the depths of winter. Since I've grown accustomed to it hanging on the wall, that space does tend to look a bit more barren in the winter, much like the trees outside. Hanging the guitar back up in the spring has become a bit of an annual tradition for me.
