Soon the JBL grills will be set aside for a repro pair of the original 3D style. L100As are known to be less fatiguing in "Ultra Blue"!
No, this is just an older photo of the LM. Later, I had the Decware sitting on top of the LM to try it out. Then I removed the Decware and put the LM into my indoor storage (area on heavy a steel shelf). The Decware is now sitting on this small table by itself running the A7's. I love this little amp. It is amazing what a 3.9-Watt amp will do, if you have the efficient speakers to do it with.
A little late to this, but I absolutely love this room. Everything about it. Nicely done. We were second owners of a 1956 rancher until two years ago. I loved that house so much. Posted photos of the stereo in the living room in an old thread, lined with original wood paneling and a huge slate fireplace much like yours except an entire wall. Best listening environment I've ever had. We sold it and moved into 1926 Craftsman-syle. Lovely, but I miss the mid-century for both design and construction. My stereo didn't really 'fit' or work well with our new living room, so I use a vintage 60s-era Zenith console to stream music via a bluetooth adaptor. Downstairs I have a new music room which has come together nicely, but I miss playing my LPs upstairs while my family hangs out. I don't really like the isolated audiophile thing the majority of the time. Music should be enjoyed with company. dan c
The motel is concrete block with no heat. Room wall AC's only. Wiring and circuits are not sufficient to have units with Heat and AC. the heat draws too much power. It was back in 2008 or 2009 that we had a real cold snap and I went out and bought these for the rooms, most of them are about 175 sq. ft. The office is a cool It is hot enough year round in S. Florida, without having more tube "space heaters". This is an old property and the investor's who own the building (not the business), let everything on the premises go to rot. The office system was damaged beyond repair and until I could replace it a few years back, I had one of those (actually several of those) nasty, noisy units from Home Depot in the wall. I didn't have audio in here until late in the year back in 2011. Each year, I would pray for cold weather, so that I could turn that AC off at night, so I could listen to my stereo, without 50 dB of background noise. After that previous cold snap. It was always so warm that only one winter night since then, was it cold enough to have absolute quiet, without having an air conditioner going in the background. Since then, I have installed a new, quiet split-pack unit and noise is no longer a problem.
Now im digging this. Hybrids..Bat tube preamp and A SS power amp driving a pair of Paradigm Studio 100's. We just had a discussion about this...why I believe the Paradigms sound best with tubes and others why they need great powerful SS to be at their best. Oh I love your setup!
