Oops! Did you catch the Etta James/ Etta Jones slip? The LP, my favorite, is Etta Jones of course. I was going to put in about how when I tell people about this album that they, (if not big jazz fans), often say, "you mean Etta James don't you".

Ron, Your loft is fantastic, it has been a dream since 1972 to live in a loft, it just hasn't worked out. ...YET. Great light, would be a good source of mental and artistic energy. I can't help but notice your camera collection, very cool. Cheers Chuck

They're not connected to anything. Plugged in so you can turn them on.

^ Yep. I'm in an unfinished basement. I've put some acoustic insulation the ceiling. Sounded terrible before that. Now it sounds very nice in here.

Gun safe...we think. It's got a big lock on it for a small little cubby hole.

I shoot with what's in the long black case next to Etta Jones.

Your room looks great, having a dedicated listening space is a luxury. Clean, slick and organized, it is a visually calming space. Enjoy chuck

Again, love this space. Don't know why I feel so comfortable in concrete. Perhaps the safety of the "bunker" feel. Or just too many nights spent in the Smart Bar in the 80's.

The Beatles. Much ado about The Beatles on this site. I am mostly a jazz freak now, but still love most, including rap/hip hop. Many of my friends were Beatles fans in the late 60's to 70's, but I never bought a Beatles LP ever. Raised on late 60's ..say Cream, and everything around it, to progressive rock in the 70's. I surely appreciate the beauty of much of their music but never had the desire to buy and Lp. What's up with me? ...sub question....do Beatles fans do rap? Friends of mine with similar taste in music, but have the Beatles..."thing", don't do rap.

    Anybody?

    ermylaw ...Mazzy.. anybody.

with that being said here is my only Beatles LP. Got it in a estate sale lot years ago when I was selling on eBay. Great condition and has two songs of theirs I like..."Eleanor Rigby" and "For No One", so I kept it. Possibly an original issue??? Have yet to actually play it.

Also love "Strawberry Fields Forever" and "Dear Prudence", particularly the latter, for the story that goes with it. Prudence Farrow and all.

Unfinished basements are great. Nobody usually wants to go down there. I have a second system in my basement but I need to have everything off the floor. Sometimes the power will go out in a big storm and the sump pump will stop, allowing for water the cover the floor. It sucks but not much else I can do. Making a 50+ year old home waterproof is costly. But the original owners did put some in 1 inch thick foam panels all along the walls. I do get some echo/vibration sounds through the old metal duct work.
