Love the Naim and Linn gear. Cool setting too!! Gilbert on the mantel?
That's small only by Hoffman collectors standards.
Nice emphasis on the classical and jazz. I need to get back to feeding the classical part of my collection. And I need to discover more jazz.
Nice looking room now Paul. Sarah must love it as well. At least you have covered up that ringing radiator. Any improvement on sound?
While my system is modest and the room is less than ideal I am very thankful to have this listening space to enjoy.
Photo is taken from just behind the listening position.
To get the best sound I need to have the speakers 1.5m (about 5ft) out from the back wall.
Yep, left speaker cables go right across the walkway between the speaker and the aquarium which access to the room at left.
The sub hides in the corner back behind the right speaker
My humble Yamaha gear that I got in 2008.
I like that it is very plain and does not draw attention to its self.
When I got this cabinet I thought it would have heaps of room but as you can see the overflow is in the rack below...
Thanks to the photos others have posted here I have been able to show my wife that my gear is a mild intrusion compared to what some of you have.
Nice setup! I really like the Tannoy's. I like the same thing about NAD's looks as you do the Yamaha...unobtrusive.
Both really happy with it Ewen. I couldn't afford to do everything we wanted but it's not far off. Happy with the sound, think the curtains and carpet make the most difference and i have changed the speaker position quite a bit. All in all a good result. Sarah V happy as it will transform into a dining room this saturday!
Funny you say that because my previous amp that I purchased in the late 80's was a NAD 7175pe receiver. I still have it and it is in use in my workshop.
I think there are closer to 10,000 hrs in a year, FWIW. I estimate it would take about 17-18 mos for me to listen to all my discs if I could listen 24/7!
24 x 365 = 8760
sorry, a little closer to 9000
Ok then, you convinced me, just ordered a few more box sets to get there.
So, at 24/7 I could get through my whole collection in a year.
With about 3800 CDs, add another couple of hundred to that number to factor in multi disc sets (which I typically count as "1" on my spreadsheet), at an average length of 60 minutes per it would definitely fit.
Rugby union ball signed by 'Saracens' around 1998. My favorite sport...
I also have an England shirt signed by the Rugby world cup winning team of 2003. I rejoiced the day they beat Australia in Australia.
Nice room, nice kit & nice taste in music-love the artwork. Spot the Zappa fan!!
After moving I have finally set up my listening room.
Nice. I love me some advents!
New Pass Labs INT-150, and some streamlining of the set-up and organization. Normally there are also some dog beds on the edge of the rug/floor.
Looking good, how tall are these speakers?
Very nice, thank you.
