Excuse my ignorance, but why two tone arms?

Beautiful set-up, as are all of these. These are great threads for boring work days!

If I had two tonearms I might use one with a cartridge for classical and the other with one for jazz, or I might have one with a mono cartridge and the other stereo. Hmmm...maybe I need four tonearms. :D

    You do need four tonearms...

It makes the vinyl thing a lot easier to enjoy.

I'm afraid I'll have to settle for one. The turntable I'm getting only accepts one, if it ever gets here. :sigh:

I think I've said so before, but a Clearaudio Performance DC with Talisman v2. It was supposed to be here by end of July. Now they say by mid August.

The first time I've used a DSLR. I bought a Canon T3i bundle and extra 50mm f/1.8 II lens:

Wow stunning shots. That unit should be fun to work with in future.

Largely re-arranged the rack in the office and in the basement theater today. The basement theater got the old Sherwood Newcastle R-925, and my Onkyo Integra DTR-7 came upstairs. Hoping to have full blown Quadraphonic sound in the office as soon as my rear speakers come in and I can install them. 5.1 with the center downmixed to the center stereo image is fantastic. Listening to my ABC pressing of "Aja" right now (sorry, no time for a pic in the LAW thread) and it sounds nice.

    Anyway - here's the photo:

    Realistic LAB-440/Audio Technica AT440MLa
Digital Prism 7" monitor for DVD-Audio
    Onkyo Integra DTR-7 Receiver
Pinoeer CLD-M401 (I was going to switch to my smaller profile Sony, but it doesn't have a digital output)
Philips FR-930 receiver (used as a sub amp)
    Yamaha DV-S5860 CD/DVD/SACD player
    Sony JB-920 MiniDisc
    Sony TC-WR350Z Cassette

The amount of cables and components I eliminated in both systems is quite impressive. So far, in Stereo, this little Yamaha player impresses as a DVD-A/SACD machine. Looking forward to having multichannel capability here, as I have a good amount of software.

Thanks! :righton: The DTR-7 is a beast! This is the first time I've ever used the phono input and from my early impressions I think I'm going to be happy with it. Can't wait for the rear speakers to show up. Nice to have digital switching and inputs for all my digital gear (MD, DVD/CD, LD, Computer).

Today's little project was setting up a small system in the guest room / aka grandson's room. It is an all DIY rig. Windows PC running Foobar2000, custom preamp based on a Bottlehead Foreplay, National Semiconductor LM3875 chip amp, and some Fostex FE167E drivers in "Chili Chang" BVR cabinets. It is all controlled by an iPad running Monkeymote.
