I only saw that poster once, and it was at a theater in Florida when I was on vacation in July. I thought it was really cool looking. But every other poster or standee I've seen since has been that orange one.

I'll watch it; even if some of the sequels have been laughably poor I'm not risking passing up on a potentially good one.

It's not looking good for any future Predator movies. Expect a huge % drop in box office for week 2-3.

Shane Black's reboot The Predator led a ho-hum weekend at the North American box office with $24 million, enough to win the weekend but coming in behind expectations.

Overseas, the $88 million Fox movie opened to a likewise subdued $30.7 million from 72 markets for a lackluster global start of $54.7 million.

Playing in 4,037 theaters domestically — the fifth widest release in history for an R-rated title — the male-fueled, sci-fi pic action pic was dinged by lousy reviews and a C+ CinemaScore. Heading into the weekend, tracking showed the $88 million film earning $30 million or more, well ahead of Predators in 2010 ($24.8 million), not adjusted for inflation.

Shame the films trailer got a lot of views on YouTube. Think the reshoot didn't help it.

Social media word of mouth is killing it dead, that's the new reality now that everyone's a critic and when the masses go :thumbsdow:thumbsdow it's a quick death.

I'll be seeing it next week. Not expecting it to top pred 1&2 but hopefully it'll will amuse me.
But..I'll comment in this thread my findings. :D

I am still going to go see it. The reshoot doesn't bother me.

    1. This isn't a kid's movie
    2. I don't believe any scenes were with children
    3. Wasn't he only in 5 minutes of the movie
    4. The guy already served his jail time

As a movie fan, Olivia Munn still being in the movie bothers me more. There are plenty of better looking actresses who are better at acting.

Paul W.S. Anderson understood the franchise.

Saw this last night, and it is pretty awful. Didn't really feel like a Predator movie to me. A lot of the CGI was quite poor as well.

I enjoyed The Meg a lot more, if that tells you anything.

Interesting...nothing can make me not want to see a movie if I'm interested...weak people known as sheeple. I guess they feel they "belong" when they flock the bandwagon...LOL.
