At the risk of needing to run for cover, I thought it was kind or repetitive and uninteresting. That bing sound over and over again was annoying. I actually found the song a bit repellent.

It's OK. Nothing special but it didn't suck either.

As far as I'm concerned, it's been a long time since he's released something that really made me stand up and take notice. Maybe I've changed, maybe he's changed? I dunno. I find myself playing Dirty Mind and Around The World In A Day and calling it a day.

sounds good, adapting with the times. I'm probably gonna get hate for this but it kinda reminds me of Justin Timberlake (in a good way). that hair tho lol

I would describe that song as bland.

The man had a helluva run of great albums in the 80s. ABSOLUTELY some genius works there.

He is probably been more influential on younger artists today than Dylan, Hendrix, Michael Jackson combined
One could argue that Purple Rain, 1999 and SOTT could be more important releases then anything his contemporaries released..which makes him a genius

The song is amazing, as The Breakdown so is. I have high hopes for the solo new album, but little expectations for the 3rd Eyed Girl one. I haven´t liked what I´ve heared so far.
For Purple masterpieces, I´d add For You, The Black Album and Diamonds & Pearls aside of the ones already mentioned.

I won´t. Although not a masterpiece it´s a kick a$$ album, with some notable killer jams

I'd put "Lovesexy" in the mix as well. At least ahead of "Batman". Forgive me for passing on posting the cover, however....

The Black Album would've been as big as Purple Rain...too bad that release got so jacked up...probably my 2nd favorite Prince lp next to 1999 or Parade

Nothing wrong with it, but nothing right with it either. Unmemorable IMO.
