I liked Prince when he had the Revolution as his backing band. I haven't enjoyed anything of his since Sign O' the Times.
Michael Jackson's music I've liked beginning with his time with the Jacksons on Triumph all the way through to the latest record, Michael. I hope his kids have a lot of great unreleased material that has yet to be published. Sony, his label, seems to think so.

I was a huge MJ fan before I found out about Prince. But I was like every other kid, I only knew "Beat It", "Human Nature" etc...

Once I got into Prince I forgot about Michael.

Defenately Prince. And I like Off The Wall and Thriller a lot.

Jackson was a compelling performer, but Prince all the way. A mulit-instrumentalist studio wunderkind genius like Stevie Wonder

Prince by far. I can count on my fingers the number of MJ tunes I care for and have to be a bit generous. With Prince, I'd probably need 6-7 more sets of arms.

I'm going with the ego-headed Prince.

I definitely prefer Prince to MJ - as an artist of course. Now ask me to pick one song to play - Prince or MJ - I only get one pick. it'll be an MJ song for sure. Sorry for expanding. ;-)

    Let's see....

Both of them are parodies of themselves.
Both of them did their best work in the 80's.
Both of them flaked out in the 90's.

Michael Jackson's 80's music has been beaten into the ground like a dead horse on the radio even before his death, to me it just sounds like ear candy with someone squeeling over the top of it. Prince I can handle. I can still listen to a Prince album especially "Sign O The Times", "Diamonds & Pearls", and "Parade" without cringing but I can't stomach Michael Jackson so I'll say

    Prince

MJ, but it's really apples and oranges. There's a lot to like from both of them.

  17. I think Prince is a lot better, especially as a multi-talent. Michael was perhaps a bigger presence as a frontman and a more recognizable voice. At least in his prime. I don't think Michael was a great lead singer anymore after about 1991.

Prince, although I do like MJ's Motown work.

Michael all the way, King of Pop, Rock, and Soul! Worldwide he is the most popular as well, way bigger in Europe and Asia than anyone is here.

But in all seriousness Michael is my favorite entertainer of all time in both music and dance, I also really love the Beatles and Elton, but Michael's music is incredible. Hit songs from when he was 10 to when he was 43, and he was still working on music till he died at 50 years old and the material that has leaked onto the internet has been incredible. This Is It proved he still had the voice and moves he always has had. His songs and their composition and lyrics are incredible, the performances and videos enhanced that. People like to pretend his later career didn't exist despite its immense success and impact, his best selling singles came out during the 90s. I love his music all the way from J5 to This Is It, incredible talent and work ethic.

You don't break sales records for 30 years and sell out tours for 40 years on luck.
