    Prince, it's very rare the other one gets played these days. Prince has been a constant.

    I like some of FM's blues stuff like Green Manalishi and Albatross, but admittedly it's the Buckingham/Nicks (and Stevie Nicks solo is also top 20 for me) stuff I love.

    Perhaps in the early/mid 90s yes, but I would say that outside of preferring Unbreakable to Rebel Heart (though I liked RH too). I have pretty much widely preferred Madonna's post-2000 work to Janet's. Discipline was as bad as MDNA IMO.

    Velvet Rope is regarded as her magnum opus, right?

    Rolling Stone included it in their "500 Greatest Albums of All Time" list. "Control" was a glaring omission though. :sigh:

    Control/True Blue: Janet

    Rhythm Nation/Like a Prayer: match

    Janet/Bedtime Stories: Janet (I would link this one closer to Erotica though since it came out about 7 months after Erotica's release)

    Velvet Rope/Ray of Light: Madonna

    All For You/Music: Madonna

    Damita Jo/American Life: Madonna

    20 Y.O./Confessions on a Dancefloor: Madonna

    Discipline/Hard Candy: Madonna (if only for She's Not Me and Candy Shop)

    Unbreakable/Rebel Heart: Janet

    Janet = 3
    Madonna = 5
    match = 1

    Love them both, but Prince edges out Michael slightly simply because he has more material that I like. Probably because his output was 1000 times that as Michael's.

    The first two albums aren't terrible, they're just devoid of any real personality. But if you like typical early 1980s r&b music, both albums have plenty to offer. I will admit that If It Takes All Night off Dream Street is a bit of a hidden gem and could've been a big hit single.

    I would take s/t from 1982 over Discipline -- its a nice funky record, and Dream Street doesn't deserve its bad rap, it's just relatively faceless in comparison to her latter material.

    Yeah, I meant just those 4, too. As I mentioned later, I exaggerated rankings for effect! :)

    Funny - if I played that game, I'd have Madonna winning each of them.

    "Rhythm Nation" is the closest call - that could go either way.

    Otherwise? All Madonna.

    The notion Janet's career was a triumph of quality over quantity is pretty laughable - Janet's put out mediocre material this entire millennium!

    How do you figure? MJ was more than half a foot taller than Prince - he towered over the little guy!
