No Phil Wainman? Not that I'd necessarily vote for him, but still...

    Phil Spector:
He developed the recording studio to become one of a pop-artist's instruments.
He produced an innovative sound which influenced generations of producers and artists.
He created some incredible artists with success to match.
He worked over decades with a diverse group of artists and styles.

Spector - he built a wall. The very best wall. We should rebuild that wall and make it a working museum or a plug-in IR.
    Evil p.o.s. though.
The fabulous bootlegs of several of his recording sessions are amazing to listen to, especially the River Deep sessions with Tina T. doing a live vocal.
Probably deserves to die in jail.
A critical influence on Brian Wilson's best work which he belittled as far as I'm aware.
A thoroughly nasty piece of work who produced a great body of work.
I'm sure the other two Phil's are much nicer but for a work colleague I'd have tried out Spector for a few months for the work experience and to see what I could learn from Larry Levine.

Sadly much like Ringo in. Yellow Submarine. I pushed the button.

It was the wrong button. No Phil Everly, Phil Ochs & all the rest.

    I don't like the Collin-ized sound.
    Phil Ramone produced Billy Joel
So it's Phil Spector by default. Probably not the greatest guy.
