I’ve posted this before, in another thread, but it’s worth sharing again here. Japanese promo LP for Bob Dylan’s Pat Garrett & Billy the Kid:
Item of interest: Piece Of Mind - Iron Maiden Gold stamped promo issue. While perusing Discogs to see if I could find any examples of a promo label, I stumbled upon the following info (I know, Discogs is not always correct!). The claim was made that the promo stamped issues are missing the cat# (ST-12274) on side two. The "commercial" releases have the number: Anyone have a non stamped cover issue without the number on side two? Just curious....
Sorry, don't have a photo account to link mine into but I do have some on these pages ...... Strange Beautiful Promotional Pressings
Just found this. A 2LP RCA mono sampler handed out to DJ:s at a meeting in London Hotel "Inn At The Park" October 1975. Not exactly the stuff you'd expect to see in true mono. Audio absolutely tophole - loud and crystal clear. Sleeve very thick and structured with one blue + one red vinyl.
Another one I found a while ago. The Gants "Road Runner" audition record...which I guess means promo.
1986 Australian only promo single featuring an edit of the Go Mix version of Devo's Here To Go. This is the only place that this particular mix/edit of this song has ever been "released". The B side was the album version of Here To Go.
I've had this for awhile now, but only today noticed the promo lingo on the label... Savage Amusement - Scorpions
Just arrived last night! Sounded excellent. I actually like the call sign stamp. I'm always curious about the history of the radio stations. This appears to be from a Nashville, TN station geared toward the 'student listener' and opened the same year this album released (1969). The station is still active today "Roots Radio". Happy hunting out there!
