I really, really (really) hope that Rhino knocks this one out of the park, so to speak. Hoping to hear A+ level high praise (from nose to tail) about this set from trusted ears here when it is finally available.
So the stereo versions of these should sound better than the Rhino re-issues from some years ago? I wonder how CTA and Chocago ..so should these (the stereo versions) be an improvement from the Rhino remasters from some years ago..?? I wonder how CTA and II will compare to the current MFSL versions?
I totally am with you on that. Have you heard anything about any potential remixing? II is in desperate need of it more so than any of the others.
But then you might not like what they did to the remixes. You could waste time waiting and then be not happy. Better to dive in and be happy with quad mixes.
Oh and I agree that II needs a stereo remix. The quad and 5.1 mixes show that something can be done to improve it.
Don't wait too long. When the first album came out in quad it quickly went out of print and assended to over $200. The beave
Disagree. The CTA DVD-A was on Rhino Handmade, which announced at the start that it was a limited issue. I know because, with that warning, I immediately bought it. This, on the other hand, is a regular Rhino release, which I suspect will prove to be as rare as the Beatles mono CD box proved to be. I intend to wait for the reviews and not get ripped off by those retailers who engage in Chicken Little sales tactics. Plus, they need to make a lot to amortize the production costs for those "rigid boxes!"
They authored a bunch of DVD-Audio titles for Warner/Rhino back in the day but I didn't know they mastered any of them.. you learn something new 24/7..!
