Although the quad mix would have been a good addition to Crux, maybe the ZFT will do a combined Overnite/Apostrophe quad later. I forget if the rumors are true that there is an unreleased quad mix of Roxy & Elsewhere in the vault, but if so they could add it.

Brother had both the 8 track Quad cartridge and the CD-4 LP to boot.

But probably won't ever get released. What burns me is AF issuing Alice Cooper's Muscle Of Love but not BDB. They're issuing mostly "Non-Hit Song" albums now. This is very disappointing.

This has all been gone over in the last two years.

You sound a bit behind the times. And the QQ forums is the better place to question this.

It is not that they are issuing non-hit song albums, it that they are no longer reissuing titles with quad or surround which is the real issue here. Never mind hits if you have no surround.

well i think your brother's copies must be very (very) rare since neither Q8 nor CD-4 versions of the album in Quad are listed at places like Mark Anderson's Surround Discography and so far from searching around online i can find no mention of the album being released in Quad at all..! wow! :yikes:

Update, brother brought me the LP and 8 track anew. LP is Stereo. The 8 track is Stereo but reshelled in a Q8 cartridge, and the label reglued on. So no Quad of it. I am surprised that there's no Quad mix of "Mighty Love" or "New & Improved" as the albums around them did get Quad releases. "Mighty Love" on the LP does sound great in simulated QS vario-matrix on the old Sansui, however. Be nice if Quadio had continued, a great series. Spinners and "Pick Of The Litter" were awesome in CD-4.

    For quad...The Guess Who.

I think almost the entire RCA catalog was mixed for the Quad format :)

I could be wrong, but since this thread deals with "Quad" releases, I believe that member chas1, may mean, why didn't A.F. release B.D.B. in 4.0, as they did with "Muscle"?

I think a Jimi Hendrix Experience box of the first 3 would be fab ....Eddie Kramer surely did surround mixes years ago....

I learn something new every day on this forum, this place is priceless to me!

Other "Doors" fans can answer this properly, but I believe, if I'm not mistaken, that the only true original "Quad" mixes of their songs can only be found on Steve's SACD, outside of their original releases way back when, while the other releases, like my "Perception" box, are "remixed" surround mixes?!?

What makes you certain he did surround mixes years ago?
