    Hi everyone, I am new to this forum.

    Recently I bought a 1984 Polydor release of ABBA - Super Trouper from discogs.

    I am a bit suspicious whether the CD is real or not because various of points:

    - The album came with a transparent plastic sleeve that is relatively pristine, not like something from 1980s. I assume the seller repackaged the album
    - Same goes with the jewel case, the top and bottom uses toothed edge instead of smoothed edge, I am not sure about this but what I saw from other Polydor disc, they uses smooth jewel cases.
    - The CD cover hub wrote "Made in W Germany" instead of "Made in W Germany by Polygram."
    - The CD itself is very new and smooth, almost NO scratches. (The seller said it is Near Mint)

    Can anyone tell me if the CD is legit or not? Thanks!

    What does it say in the matrix of the CD?

    Unfortunately many CD's on Discogs have the wrong release date, especially the early releases.

    Bump for any info on a Australia 02, 04 Disctronics press.
    Would the 02, 04 signify the Polygram German mastering was used?

    The OP hasn't been seen since starting this thread. However, whenever I read these threads, it would be nice if an image or two was included. Many Abba CDs remained in print for several years, so clearly some of them will look new.

    In the US at least, the remaster's, the one I pictured is 1999 and uses the compressed Astley and has a blurb under the tray as shown. The top Voulez is a 1995, peaks match the old WG, unfortunately you can't tell by the face paint as I think it was passed on to the remasters. I think the 'Abba Remasters' was dropped at one point.
    @afterm.ath
    Try to find a pre 1995 or WG Silver if you can't source a US Atlantic

    Apologies if I drag on a bit, I have compiled samples of 10s duration from four variants of the Title track into one audio file.

    Super Trouper samples in order of play;

    1 – German Polydor 04 Matrix with dropout – Peak 94.8 / DR14
    2 – US Polar Polydor – Peak 94 / DR15
    3 – The Hits Box IMP DANDISC – Peak 83 / DR15
    4 – The Singles First 10 Years Polydor – Peak 91.8 / DR14
