So it looks like the cantilever is straight and the stylus follows the arc, yet I'm still getting distortion. Is there a reason? Cartridge is an Ortofon 2M Blue and the table is a Pro-Ject Debut Carbon DC.

The stylus following the arc (without moving the protractor) is just for the overhang part, you still need to align the stylus at one of the null point grids (again without moving the protractor - stylus still should follow the arc), and then check again at both null point grids to be sure, and check again that stylus still follows the arc.

If that's what you did, then how do you know it's not the record? Do you have known good records you've tested?

Cantilever is straight at both null points. I got it correct with another cartridge but the screws were too loose. My mistake, but there was no distortion on this particular record with that cartridge at that time when I was using it. Now with this one there is.
