As I type this I'm listening to a bootleg of Phish live at the Rosemont Horizon, the "Quadrophenia" show October 31, 1995. I also regularly listen to a bootleg of Phish's "The White Album" show. I know that both of these shows are available on official CDs as part of the "Live Phish" series and was wondering if the official CDs are the same as the bootlegs.

Thanks in advance for the information.

Do you mean from a source perspective? If so, no. They are multi-tracked. Are they From the same dates? - probably...they only performed these special albums/concerts as part of their Halloween shows. Also, over the years I have seen some boots that have had additional tracks added as filler etc. Compare your White Album to this trackslist...this is the official release:

I'm not 100% positive, but I don't think SBDs of the 'ween shows were available prior to official release. I say this because, usually if there's a boot, someone will 'liberate' it and spread it freely among traders. I don't remember seeing SBDs of those shows that had been liberated from boots.

Thank's for posting the track list. I'll compare it to the bootleg tonight when I am home from work.

    David,

The Live Phish series which included the four released Halloween shows (1994, 1995, 1996 and 1998) were mastered from Paul Languedoc's original 2-track soundboard tapes. While multi-tracks exist for these shows (and every show post-fall 94) in the Phish vaults, the 2-track board tapes were used.

All bootlegs of these shows feature band sanctioned audience recordings with the exception of the '98 show which was partially issued as a radio special (cover album: Velvet Underground's "Loaded").
