So Discogs has the 'random item' feature (right side of screen under 'settings', icon looks like a couple dice) that gives you a random item out of your collection. I love stuff like this, and I've used it a few times to select what to listen to next.

So we'll play a game here, push the random item button (it opens a new page, so open it in a new tab if necessary), and post the first thing that comes up. No cheating, just for fun. I'll go first:

Man, Im glad that is still in beta, first ive seen it, I'll be filling out that survey. Suddenly you can't add condition or notes to your collection items. I think that was a more useful feature than "random item". Those guys could screw up a wet dream.

Really? It let me do it on the app via my phone with all the stuff I bought last weekend, and looking at it in Chrome just now, it appears I can edit condition / notes?

Oh, I thought that random button was great and a way of getting some buried treasure out to play in the car..

But, after having a bit of 'no, not that, press again' I found that I was getting the same cds coming around too often.

    It's not random enough...

Hmm, Im using chrome as well and I can only rate the album, there is no notes section on my end. I tried adding something and the field isnt there, it just says in collection added 5 minutes ago, the grading and notes fields arent there. I tried editing and it isnt there. Is it possible a beta can look differently to diffferent users?

We've had some discussions about Discogs libraries looking different on here before in other threads.

In cover view or collection view, it lets me hover over condition or notes, it turns yellow like a highlight, and a drop down appears when I click for condition or a text box for notes.

For the record, I'm using Firefox, and the page looks normal to me. Just tried it again, and I can edit notes and everything else.

Second time around I got Black Sabbath.

Interesting. Those fields are simply not there on my end. Im sure there would be some complaints in their forum if everybody had this issue but i dont see any. Very strange.
Do me a favour if you have a second? Add a random record to your collection and see if it still offers the fields for you for things you add since the revamp. My collection notes are gone

Added Bob Geldof's "This Is The World Calling" randomly, and yes, it does allow me to edit the fields like normal. You should definitely send them feedback.

No prob, man, that sucks. If you hear back from Discogs, let us know what they say, in case anyone else is having that issue!

I rely on the notes so obsessively lately that I'm putting in there when I last washed the item in a SpinClean.

Will do. I will ask in their forums about it in a bit, but for now I found a workaround. I went to setttings (not collection settings, user settings. Then I went to collection on the left and I have no fields. So I added two fields, one for condition, one for notes. That will do for now but I will still ask about it because my old notes dont show. I have recently downloaded my collection csv though, so they arent lost at least, just not appearaing.

Edit, just in case anyone else encounters this. I added 3 fields now. Two of them are dropdowns with 7 lines for the respective conditions. and a 3rd for notes. So it is back to normal except for my old notes, but I had to do it myself, odd.
