    Some background....

These photos were taken in Hong Kong on or about June 9th, 1964. Ringo isn't in them because he missed the first few dates of the tour due to a case of tonsillitis. In his absence, Jimmy Nicol filled in on drums. Ringo caught up with the rest of the band a few days later in Australia.

The girl sitting in Paul's lap is the sister of a former co-worker of mine. She and her friend skipped school that day and went to the hotel were the Beatles were staying. I have no idea how they actually got to meet the band, or who took the photos. These are scans of 8 X 10 blow-ups that were made from pictures that my co-worker carried around in his wallet for years. I got them in the late 80s.

Here's my question. Why are Paul's feet several shades darker than the rest of him? I don't think it's simply a shadow.

Paul certainly doesn't seem to be hesitant with the girl from Hong Kong. She's on his lap in one photo and then he's got his arm around her in the other. The girl doesn't seem to mind either. No wonder John was jealous of Paul's ability to pull the birds. Arnie

This is such a great thread, I wanted to contribute. This is a photo of the Beatles and Brian Epstein sharing a laugh on May 20, 1966 at the video shoot at Chiswick House, taken by the late Bob Whitaker. He called it "Happy Daze." I can't recall seeing it published anywhere. Sorry for the quality: photographed, framed on my wall. IMG_1905.JPG
