I surprisingly didn't see a thread like this (I'll delete this one if someone finds one).

Rank the Beatles UK albums based on your preference; throw in the EPs and Singles if you wish!

    1. Revolver
    2. Sgt Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band
    3. White Album
    4. Magical Mystery Tour (US Version)
    5. Abbey Road
    6. Rubber Soul
    7. Let it Be
    8. Help!
    9. Yellow Submarine (only the four original tracks)
    *Long Tall Sally EP
    10. Beatles for Sale
    11.With the Beatles
    12. Please Please Me (only because of "I Saw Her Standing There" and "Twist and Shout", otherwise "A Hard Day's Night" would be 12)
    13. A Hard Day's Night

    Revolver
Rubber Soul (These two created a new form of music)
Please Please Me (The title song alone carries it)
Abbey Road (one of the best written, played and recorded rock albums of all time)
A Hard Days Night (How much more energy can be squeezed on a record?)
    The Beatles (Beatles without boundaries)
With The Beatles (It's Please, Please Me 2)
Help (Ticket to Ride is groundbreaking, but this is a rehearsal for Rubber Soul)
Sgt Pepper (a couple of groundbreaking songs, but way overrated)
Let It Be ( They cant all be great)
Magical Mystery Tour (This sounds like a band lost along the road)
Beatles For Sale (This sounds like a very tired band)
Yellow Submarine (never a soundtrak fan)

This does a good job of summing up my view. Although I hadn't thought of including that single here. Probably because I do not own it.

Either way I have always found myself liking Rubber Soul and Revolver best. So I would put that in a tie for first and say I like everything else as a tie for second.

This is how I'm feeling about the albums today...

    1. Revolver
    2. Beatles For Sale (I love all the originals on this album as well as how their c & w western influence comes out to play)
    3. With the Beatles (been really enjoying the originals on this, too. An imperfect album but, it reminds me so much of my early love for the group)
    4. Sgt. Pepper's (Love this album in mono)
    5. Rubber Soul
    6. A Hard Day's Night
    7. Help
    8. Please Please Me
    10. Let It Be (Paul's songs are as soulful and revealing as he's ever written on this album)
    9. Magical Mystery Tour
    11. The Beatles (White Album)
    12. Abbey Road (I agree this album is over-rated. A production triumph but the songs, outside of George's, just aren't their for me.
    13. Yellow Submarine

    12. Let It Rot (contains more bad songs than any other Beatle album and i hate Long and Winding Road)

    1. Let It Be - One of their most underated albums, works as a FAB album with great rockers (get back/pony/909/) ballads (title track/winding road/two of us),
blues (for you blue/got a feelin) ,a few deeper songs (me mine/ universe) and off the cuffs (maggie/dig it). Also LOVE the spoken bits that tie it all together :)

It should definetely be higher up peoples lists , in view anyways !

I agree Hey Bulldog is a brilliant song...

but 'all together now' (poor lyrics '1234 can i have a little more?) ; 'it's all too much' (meandering) or 'only a northern song' (a mess) better than ...
Let It Be ? Long and Winding Road? Two of Us? Dig a Pony? I Got A Feeling? I Me Mine? Across The Universe? Get Back? One after 909?

    no way!!
