Here's an auction for a cool Joni Mitchell collectable:

It's a test pressing of the original version of Blue (never issued), which has a song (Hunter (The Good Samaritan)), not on the released version and never otherwise issued.:

    (It's not my auction...)

Woah, sold for $360! Did someone from here buy it? Has the song "Hunter (The Good Samaritan)" even ever been bootlegged? Craziness.

Actually, that sounds fairly cheap for something as unique as a test pressing of an unreleased version of a classic album (as long as authenticity can be proved). Dylan's Blood on the Tracks and the Velvet Underground and Nico are two that come to mind.

About 10 years ago, I was given the opportunity to buy an acetate of Sgt. Pepper with the original track order for $2000 or so. I passed and I think it ended up selling for much more.

I saw Joni do a set of things she hadn't released once including what I presume is this song. The chorus went something like:
"What if he was a devil and I let him in my door
What if he was an angel and he won't be back no more
Thank you kindly said the good samaritan..."

There's an alternate pressing of "Blue" that has made the bootleg rounds for several years. I don't recall if it has the additional song on it. Anyone?

Yeah, "Hunter" is on there. Been awhile since I played it, but IIRC "Hunter" basically sounds like "This Flight Tonight" with different lyrics.
