Recently reissued on Cherry Red UK (as was its twin, "The Power Of Love") with a whole heap of bonus tracks and fab liner notes - 36 tracks between them, including some real rarities. And I think it sounds pretty good, too.

Max Romeo - "Holding Out My Love To You" - features Keith Richards.

Sally Starr - "Our Gal Sal" - Sally, backed by Bill Haley's Comets (but not Bill).

  6. It's an interesting album that was recorded by Doug Yule (who played almost of the instruments) with drumming assistance from Ian Paice. I liked it and I wished there was an official release on CD.

Correct...I owned a copy. I had to part with it a few years ago when I was temporarily poor. I will say that the mastering was not so great.

Some of choices already listed (The Creatones 2 lps, Argent "Counterpoints" and solo "Going Home"; Colin Blunstone Rocket label solo) but I may add:
the missing A&M titles from Head East
A&M label mates "Hudson & Ford" - an off-shoot of the Strawbs which had 4 lps
and "Trees". A Dane Canover record on MCA (if you like Thomas Dolby, you would go mad for this).

I have Planes, and I can tell you (if you don't own it), it's not going to win Colin any new fans if it's re-released. And boy, don't think I didn't want it to be great....

    Oh, how I wish! :shake:

The critically acclaimed band Trees was pretty much a one-man-band but oh what a band it was! That one man, Dane Conover was from San Diego, CA I believe.

Ira Robbins of Trouser Press couldn’t praise the Sleep Convention album enough: He said, “That this album died the commercial death is not just incomprehensible, it’s criminal. ”

At the time it came out, MCA was an incredibly poor label: Lousy roster, lousy A&R, lousy promotion, lousy management, a lot of corruption. "Music Cemetery of America" was right. The hits they did manage were flukes. A lot of decent records got buried by being on MCA at that time.

The Trees album was basically pushed out with little promotion, even by the anemic standards of MCA. A lousy cover that didn't properly represent the music inside was pretty much the icing on the cake. It never had a chance.

    ...Wow! I forgot this one!

J.D. Souther and Glenn Frey from '69.

My vinyl on Amos is minty fresh, but I'd love to have a nice CD, too.

The rocker "Run, Boy Run" is worth the price of admission alone...I wonder if any tapes still exist...master or otherwise?

To stay on thread topic, I submit:

Natural Gas - S/T (Joey Molland's band after he left Badfinger in '74-'75)...it's on Private Stock so I doubt if we will get anything in great quality, if anything, ever!

They've both been teased in the last couple of years, but haven't actually been re-released:

Cowboys International - The Original Sin

    a great synthpop/post punk/new wave album

There was a Cowboys International CD released called "Revisited" which contains several tracks from that album, but the sound quality is amongst the worst I have ever heard on CD (original album sounded great on vinyl)
