I never said people overseas are waiting to rip me off. Why would I think something like that ? That makes no sense.

It's just I take all the risk cause buyers don't want to pay for tracking, it's very expensive to go overseas for tracking and insurance.

PayPal didn't cover me at all, not unless it was tracked and it wasn't. If something happens it's on the seller.

I had a bad experience so I put an end to it, cause something was lost. Not a risk I want to worry about on an over priced $1000 CD.

I use to sell overseas all the time. But once you get burned on an expensive CD, well it makes you not want to do it again.

In the USA, register is not tracked. PayPal requires tracking, not registered. It has to show it got to the buyer and registered is not the same as tracking in USA.

The Japan and US targets are still pretty tough to find, whereas the WG one is less so.

Even then, they're much less pricey than they were five years ago. I don't own 'em but I've seen them for reasonable-ish prices...

I rarely see the Neil Young targets up for sale in the UK.

Any classic Cd's at a shopping mall, or outlet store is near impossible to find......

Not sure how often "Harvest" appears in US bins - I've seen it a handful of times - but it's easily available on eBay.

"Everybody's Rockin'", on the other hand? Rare!

I thought I found one....back inlay 'printed in West Germany'....but alas, the disc was a silver to center pressed in West Germany, but not a target. I could get one off Ebay, but I like the hunt.

Yeah, me too, but the thrill of the kill on eBay is fun, too! :)

In reality, I have such poor CD stores near me that I'd miss out on plenty of CDs I want if I skipped Internet buying.

Also, eventually you get all the "common" stuff and if you rely on "in the wild" purchases, you'll never find the rarer stuff.

Most of us have some super-rare stuff we've found in the wild, but even the obsessives here who seem to be at stores 7 days a week still need the Internet for some of their acquisitions!

In the past year, I've found the A Clockwork Orange soundtrack and CSN Allies on separate visits to the same small store.

    Lucky you!

I did however run into the Allies target at my local record store earlier this year. It was the second least expensive CSN CD on their somewhat expensive shelves.

I found a silver to center non target copy of Moondance with WG inserts. I picked it up as it was very cheap and the inserts were decent. I figure I might run into someone with the target disc and no, or badly damaged inserts.

Wow - that's amazing! I've never seen either in the wild - I have both but had to get them through Internet sources...

I found two targets this week
    Rickie Lee Jones and
Hotel California where the target is off center, very strange looking

That Newman target on black background looks very cool. I think there's an Asia target with the same colors..Any others, aside from classical titles?

Not sure what the rarest ones are, but I'm sure whichever ones they are, you can bet dollars to donuts that the SHTV forum consensus will tell you that it's absolutely the best sounding version of those albums that money can buy. I've been around long enough to know that as well as anyone. :D The rarer it is, the better it sounds!

I don't think there are any classical titles with the black background. However, there is the jazz title Reunion at Budokan.

It's a Japan for Japan target, so may be hard to find (although I find it easier to locate Japan for Japan targets than WG or Japan for US ones; I've even found ones from UK sellers with obis attached).
