Sorry I'm not so much an audiophile (convenience is key for me), but there's a lot of great music from that era To start, I would snag the proper album (I have the original pressing vinyl but that's more for collecting, I bought the 2006 2 disc remaster which sounds great to me, but to start is recommend at least the main proper album.... I'd add to that immediately Fishernan's Blues Part 2 (US only/import) of the Too Close to Heaven album--out takes from the same Fish blues sessions, as that US edition has the definitive live Too Close to Heaven on it and only it--and it might be their peak. Try those two and if you're hungry for more all the extended Waterboys releases add tracks that to me improve upon the original albums....Fishermans Box is pretty solid too but maybe a bit much to start...the fact is they easily had 4-5 masterwork lp's in the Fish Blues era but only released one of them.. Hope that helps (the waterboys took a bit of casual listening for me to click, but now I find them (especially Scott and Wickham) to be pure genius...
