I'm on a Ray Bryant kick at the moment and wondered if anyone cares to comment on the sound quality of the Con Alma CD release?
There is a USA and European version, does anyone know if they different masterings?
    Thanks, Trevor.

Twodawgzz But why do you ask such questions...

Don't know the answer to your question, but I just want to say that "Somewhere In France" is my favorite Ray Bryant CD. He was a real talent.

After a weekend of listening to Ray Bryant sound samples I prefer his earlier stuff. I prefer the chamber jazz to the boogie woogie, sped up interpretations and added strings. Con Alma appears to have the best version of Cubano Chant.

of course I meant chamber jazz and the blues. I'm reposting hoping someone with Con Alma will comment.

The Con Alma Columbia Jazz Masterpieces CD arrived today courtesy of an Amazon reseller. I've played it twice already, it's nicely recorded by Fred Plaut at CBS studios in glorious mono and the music is sublime. This has to be the best $3 I've ever spent!
