So I've been listening to "Modern Sounds in Country and Western Music" on vinyl that I picked up a few years back cheap. It's a ca. 1988 Rhino Bill Inglot mastered release. I haven't heard any other version, but this one sounds pretty OK and not No-Noised. Is there a better version? An original, if it can be found?

Steve did master Greatest Country & Western Hits for DCC a few years ago with many songs from this album and then there is the original ABC-Paramount album.

Oops, I didn't realize there was a DCC version. Is this a compilation from both C&W lps? Is the original hard to get?

Modern Sounds... was one of Ray's biggest hit albums, sold millions. It shouldn't be too hard to locate a vintage copy. Heck, I remember one in my Aunt Annie's record case back when I was a kid. Check any good vintage vinyl place.

The DCC is a compilation from both LPs.

I'm assuming that Steve's version is best, no? I may seek out an original to compare to the Rhino since they appear to be plentiful. Thanks again for the info.
