First heard of RWH on Jerry Jeff's cover of Redneck Mother.

Ray and Jerry Jeff are both legends, and about time that Ray got signed to a larger label.

I wish Ray Wylie and his new label well, but I think he's coming to the end of his run, with me anyway.

    Love this quote from Ray

“To have a badass label like Big Machine say they believe in the low down, greasy record I made with my hoodlum friends and want to put it out? Well, damn. Sure. You bet.”

I never heard him, until his tune featuring Paula Nelson and Elizabeth Cook started playing on Youtube! I liked that a lot and found his album is a "duets" project -- but really interesting collaborators: no "new" country acts to try and gain airplay!

For those interested, Ray Wylie Hubbard is taping the Austin City Limits tv show tonight (10/21) and it will be live streamed on the ACL site. One of the few benefits of this pandemic (if that's possible) is that the show has been offering live streams since the tapings are now happening without a live audience.

Gotta be tough for some performers but RWH is overdue for a taping since he's never taped an episode prior to tonight. Am still looking for details but think the show starts at 7 pm CST. Link:

I'm curious as to your reasons. Thanks in advance!

I'm not a big fan of most guest-star filled albums. There are some good ones but a lot of bad ones too. Each of Ray Wylie's albums always had a distinct feel to them, which you don't get with a bunch of guests. His songwriting seems to be winding down. And, Co-Starring sounds a little bombastic to me. He could come back with another killer album, though, and I hope he does.
