If any of you come across this model of a turntable or the predecessor, the LAB-2100 at a garage sale, please do not buy these at any price. The tonearm is not offset, uses elliptical styli (a deadly combination) and the construction of them is poor and as a result, you do hear inner groove distortion from time to time. The turntable sounds great on more acoustic and quieter sections of a song, but when music progresses to higher volumes, there is distortion in the sound. This turntable is the equivalent of using my Numark TT-500 with the straight tonearm and an elliptical stylus although the cartridge on the LAB-2200 is P-Mount and the Numark uses the 1/2" headshell mount. I paid only $2 for the turntable and bought a generic stylus just to test out the turntable inexpensively and the end result is that it was money wasted. The semi-automatic deal with the LAB-2200 is a great deal though but otherwise it isn't worth seeking out.
