Obviously there are many reasons not to cheat on your partner, but this woman took her cheating husband's records and turned them into her kitchen floor.....
Dumb idea really as the grooves will fill up with grunge, and be hard to clean anyway.... cutting off one's nose to spite one's face?

"...the vinyl records – which included Dire Straits, Jets Yazz, Hands Up, Showaddywaddy and Paper Lace".........anyone else think they cooked the story up between them and he was quite happy to sacrifice those records?

The story says nothing about cheating. They’re divorced, so maybe he willingly gave up a part of his collection in the settlement. Efficient way of losing any Paper Lace vinyl.

Why would she even want to keep those memories of her ex in the first place?

There’s clearly an epoxy poured and smoothed over to make the floor. It’s not like the records are exposed

I've thought that records would actually make good shingles.

That happens anyway, but on the floor, even more so.

On the plus side, no doubt hubby is not pleased, but it's a lot better than the traditional dagger in the bosom.

Meanwhile, for well-behaved, non-cheating husbands, their spouses still want to throw their vinyl records in the trash.

I imagine vinyls would make good frisbees - "good" in the sense that they would fly well. They might be rather dangerous though. I'm thinking about "Oddjob" from Goldfinger.

All of this raises an interesting question. Are the majority of self-styled audiophiles men? And straight men, at that? One never seems to hear of a man throwing a tantrum about his wife's musical collection.

One of my uncles would probably have been called an audiophile, of the classical music variety mostly. His wife tolerated it - I don't think she was very musical at all and probably neither loved nor loathed his records. She did however make full use of his passion by using his sound system modules as convenient places to put extra knick-knacks, every available centimetre of shelf space having already been taken up by these. On one occasion he acquired a new pair of speakers, whereupon she immediately went and bought two identical standard lamps to adorn the tops of the speaker cabinets.

I like her quirky style. GW throws tons of records in the dumpster that could be used for decorating. I've been to a comic/record/clothing store in Fredericksburg,VA that has pages and covers of comic books under a clear see-through flooring material and it was cool. I'm not sure if it's still around.

There's a clear sealant on the floor, no groove issues. The kitchen floor walks nice and quiet. :righton:

I didn't cheat, but 30 years ago I had to give up half my record collection to get out amicably of a long term relationship. Some real classics in there too, but it was worth it.
