I'm looking for a CD (or CDs) of Christmas music done on solo piano (or perhaps a Jazz trio). Any recommendations? Thanks!

(And yes, I know it's July as I write this). :)

Wow, you guys are fast! :) I already have A Charlie Brown Christmas but I'll definitely check out the Ramsey Lewis Trio albums (it seems that only the first one is on CD but not the second?). Keep 'em coming, guys!

I recommend George Winston's December: piano solos (in case you aren't already familiar with it).

Also, Eddie Higgins Trio, Christmas Songs.

Laura Caviani has a two disc set called Christmas Holiday Jazz. I think this is exactly what you're looking for.

Yes, that's some of it. Now that I look at it, it was a special products disc. I bought it on a whim at one of those little CD kiosks you find in the stores department or housewares stores. I happened to pick this one up at Bed, Bath, and Beyond. Her name isn't even mentioned on the cover. It reads "holiday favorites performed by a jazz piano trio." Her name is mentioned only on the back in little print.

    Here's some info on it.

Heck, you might even try something like this special product from Target. It's worth the risk for $10.

I love Christmas music and I am also loving this thread......especially in July. I wish some of the suggestions were released on vinyl, especially the Dave McKenna one.
I'm doing a live all vinyl "Christmas in July" broadcast on Mixlr this month, but I haven't decided on the final date yet as I plan on doing a three hour broadcast and I haven't nailed down which day I'll have that much straight time.

Beegie Adair has several Christmas-themed albums, including solo and trio; although she can swing these might be closer to cocktail piano than jazz, but they make excellent music to hang ornaments by. :righton:
