Got all the big bulky packaging of the entire series 10 years ago. Even discussed it with an actual funeral home director who said it was dead-on (sorry), and he and his fellow undertakers never missed it.

    Love the Blu rays.

Yeah, I remember just being thankful when they went to 16 X 9.

Oh, and thanks for informing me there even was a season 3. Honest to God never read a word about it. EDIT : Ordered from Bull Moose $14.97 free shipping. Thanks @93curr

A bit polemical at times, but I liked 'Dear White People' on Netflix
    Homeland on Showtime

Right with you on Mozart in the Jungle. It was a great series.
I want to dig into The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel because I love the time frame and subject but the first two episodes turned me off. I felt they just played a little too fast and loose with details and attitude. They were so into being the Gilmore Girls in spirit that they ignored the plot and a lot of realistic character building. They just assumed I woudl like her and go with the whole plotline. I found the transition of Mrs. Maisel just too quick and unbelievable(That is also what bugged me about Mozart. The lead is supposed to be a great conductor yet because he never does it for much of the last half of the episodes we are just supposed to accept he is. They lost some of the love of music for me as he wandered into his neuroticism). Am I off on this one or does the show get better over time?

Why should teevee force themselves to "realistic character building"? That's like saying Ravel should not have used saxophone in his arrangements, because they were never used before.

Personally, I think if you follow Mrs Maisel a couple more episodes, you will get hooked on the pace, definitely hooked on Alex Borstine's "lets-put-on-a-show" energy, and see how the resistance to what the lead is trying to overcome, become a character in itself. Maybe - MAYBE-? - the pace of the show is so fast because, the words don't matter as much as the music in the action.

Mozart definitely gives one more of an insight into what orchestra management, artist development, and the conductor's challenges entail, than you have seen in any other show...and it's not even about that! It's not doncumenatarian, or procedural, or even "realistic"; it's "about" stuff, rather than "depicting" stuff. There is just so much heart in this project!

Atlanta is right there with Better Call Saul for best series currently on television, imo.

The first season of Barry was quite good as well. Didn't find it at all derivative of Dexter.

NO, it isn't. It's like saying that they should do realistic character building.

But...these are characters, and as such, you have to show some patience in order to let the storyteller tell his story, rather than keep interrupting with, "Well, you said he drove somewhere, what kind of a car was it?"

A story is not responsible to the listener/viewer as to how carefully, or lacksadasical they tell their story. You're just along for a ride. The Magical Mystery Tour never stopped at a BP to gas up, or let their passengers out to stretch their legs. Would you feel cheated because of that?

More recently I watched Aquarius and Bates Motel. Also recommended, though I thought certain characters could have been better written in the last two seasons of BM. Still a great show for those who like the film Psycho.

    Fargo, especially S1, is awesome.

US. Fantastic series that surprisingly, wasn't more popular given how huge MMA/UFC fighting has gotten. IMO, it felt like a modernized, darker version of another VERY highly recommendable show; Friday Night Lights!
