That Albert King/Butterfield Blues Band Side By Side of "Born Under a Bad Sign" is a pretty potent pairing.

I walked around with a buddy to all of these really small hole in the wall places browsing and really didn`t buy much.It was a fun day though.

If Imhad more spending money, I would definitely grab this one. There are lots of copies around Minneapolis, so they should be around for a while.

I went to two stores and picked up the Sex Pistols picture disc, the Dead Can Dance double LP on clear vinyl, and The Animals EP. I would have loved to have picked up the Bowie MWSTW pic disc, but I knew that would be gone unless I queued before a store opened for the day.

I didn't go in the morning, for the first time in years, and missed out on the DFH poster. I love the one from last year! I might end up buying one on eBay just to compliment last year's.

I know, it is not posted yet on their website. Will post when it is up.

It is on the live broadcast now however, this network repeats every half hour.

Man. After all these years of everyone universally celebrating the spirit of the day. Bummer.

I've bought many of these Parlophone RSD's (Tomorrow, July, Rainbow Ffolly, Idle Race's Birthday Party) and they are all great, all around. I don't normally go for any colored vinyl but these play great and this splatter is the coolest looking yet. The S/T Idle Race is non-gatefold unlike the 1st album and not that flip-back design that Parlophone did and that were replicated on the reissues but I don't know what the original's design was. Also worth noting, lots of complaints of off centered copies in this series and warping as well, neither of which I've had an issue with. Suppose I've just been lucky.

They didn't order any, or they were sold out within 5 minutes of opening?

That's funny, cause they were where Metallica played on the first RSD. There must be a story there.

Is it just me or does anybody else think that the prices of some (most) of these releases are outrageous?

Rick is such a good guy, I'm sorry to hear that you had problems. I love that store and it'll be one of my first stops when I'm in Indy in May.

It feels like the very definition of old news, but when I see $20 7" singles....

I'm pretty cheap but I didn't think much was out of line.

Our local store owner comes out and goes through the line taking everyone's #1 choice and fills those first. Even people who arrive late have a chance at getting one of their top choices. Then you're let in a group at a time and you can buy what's left. Very nice arrangement, no craziness at all.

    I picked up:

    CCR Box
    The Buzzcocks
    The Doors Live
    Cheap Trick at Budokan Complete
    Hendrix Smash Hits
    John Coltrane
    Monk
    Lester Young
    Muddy Waters
    and The Doors 7"
