  2. The Beatles' "Back In The USSR" has some "Beach Boys-esque" background vocals.

In the late 80s, Xtc's Andy Partridge went on a heavy Brian Wilson kick. Here's an obvious tribute from their Dukes of Stratosphear project:

That's a good 'un. I think Mike Love had some kind of hand in Back in the USSR, didn't he?

I've never heard that before Tristero. That's exactly the kind of stuff I'm looking out for. Really excellent! Must stick that on my to buy list.

In the late 90s, the Elephant 6 collective of neo-psychedelic artists owed a major debt to the Beach Boys. Here's one of my favorites from Olivia Tremor Control.

Oh yeah, be sure to check Xtc's Skylarking album as well for more Beach Boys inflected psych pop.

Yeah, Season Cycle, in particular, is pretty Beach Boys-ish.

The Super Furry Animals were another notable group of Wilson admirers in the late 90s. For this track, they even went so far as to draft Paul McCartney himself to chomp vegetables for this tribute to the Smile era.
