Found myself tonight scouring the pop/rock section of my local Circuit City store for unsold DCC titles--wasn't looking for anything in particular-just those gold box tops. I found 4 discs in the entire store. I know there are other titles in at least one other independent store here. The titles are Doobie Brothers-Grt Hits, Eagles Grt Hits , a Queen and Metallica title---now somewhere on this board I'm sure there is someone who is searching for at least one of these---wouldn't it be nice if we could set up some kinda of clearing house or trading arena among our nearly 200 board members until the DCC represses start up to help one another--any ideas???

Quick, there is a Doobie Bros. DCC CD on Ebay right now that is over $91.00. It has a few hours to go. Item # 1469190125

I wish we could save this guy some money!

    Hmm. Should we??? ;)

I really think more than not, people have something set in their head, see it on eBay, and try nothing else. Betcha it goes for $120+.

Nah, Steve. Although I don't think it's just you. I usually get 4-6 emails from others before 9, and it's been DEAD. Hmm, maybe I should email myself? I bet I'll find I don't reply to myself.

Hey, even if Mr. Moneybags stops his proxy bid, I betcha a nickel he gets beat at the punch, sniped, and bone dry. As cynical as it is, I've had my butt whooped on simple, common audio purchases. 6SL7 tubes going for dirt, and I get snarfed from grip.

Hey, it's a crap table. Sometimes you gotta dust yerself off. Hey, laugh at me: I was bidding on a Japanese Lp and I was on top of it like nobody's business. Countdown felt like "Happy New Year", except DOH!

You should have seen me wailing and flailing around. I was "LIVID!" The fish stoppped swimming. Found another in better shape, 1/2 the price won a month later.

Persistance. Without it, you're not as much as a music fan. :D

Funny...(with all respect to Steve) that's not even one of DCC's better releases...

Doesn't REALLY matter Luke. Lotta people are collecting every DCC/MFSL issue they can reach. Lot of collectors have like, 3-4 titles left to make a "complete set". Possibly someone who's kicking himself because he thought like you did 2 years ago. Now, he's come this far.

Oooh. The pain. Steve's right; Bad Sckott [IMG]

I think we've all gone Cookoo for music. It's art, and some people gotta have it!

In retrospect, I thought I was nutty for hunting down an EAS "Hey Jude" Japanese pressing. Cookoo!!

I'm not a collector; it's the music that I want. I've bought an insane number of DCC discs in the past six weeks, and I'll admit that I paid a bit more than I should have for a couple of them.

Many of their titles are classic must-haves, and the high quality of the CDs along with Steve's interpretation of what the music should sound like make them almost priceless, imo.

How much was the Metallica title? I would be interested in it (Puppets or Lightning, doesn't matter). I passed on a used Lightning for $17, and have been kicking myself ever since.

For Patrick M----27.99 for the Metallica plus 5% tax--advise if you want me to recheck the title for you.

If you don't mind buying cut-outs, go to www.musicforasong.com They have several DCC CD's. Some for just $10 plus shipping.

Here in Volcania there is just about a zero probability of finding DCC on the shelf ( shrugs, hangs head).

Oh, but I actually ordered and recieved Jim Croce/ Gold In A Bottle from HMV last week ;-).
